Power Windows Problem

I was driving the other day in my 2005 F-150 Triton and tried to roll down my windows and they wouldn't go down. I tried all the doors and none of the windows would budge. They worked in the morning but would just a couple of hours later. I don't think it is the fuse because the same fuse also controls my sunroof and that works just fine. If you have any suggestions please post, I'm willing to try anything. Thanks.

Would they just not go down with the drivers control panel, or did you try it with each individual door itself? The window regulators are a common problem with these model trucks, but I doubt you had all 4 go bad at once. I would check all of the fuses related to the windows just to make sure, because that is a good possibility. Also, the contacts on your window switches may need to be cleaned. There is a write up in the how-to section about how to clean the contacts, and it may solve your problem.

I noticed it first with the driver controls and then when I went home I tried it with all the doors and none would work. I will have to go through the whole fuse box and check them all. Thanks

Try cleaning the switches first. Both my old '04s and '07 needed this badly, flawless windows after that.

I had a similiar issue on my truck. Passenger side would go down, but not up. So i replaced the regulator. That wasn't the problem it was the drivers side switch. I swapped with a buddy and that fixed the issue. I bought a replacement off of ebay for $35. It seems to be working well so far.

Switches are a common issue with these trucks but I doubt all 4 switches went out at once. I'd check the fuse anyway even if you think its ok. Next step would be to check for power and ground to the master switch.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there drivers switch is the "master" and if it has problems the others don't work properly either...
