x5 it has a little under half of what yours does, 14k would be ok if it was a 4x4. if you really want it hit em at 12.5, and say, it needs work, and i need this this and this done.

Ford has extended the factory warranty to something like 100,000 miles on the injectors on affected 2005 trucks. They will not replace them until they go. If they do go and take out the motor, they will replace the motor. Not a bad deal.

Me 4 you know the truck. Why downgrade?
I wouldn't really see it as a downgrade if he got the 05. He would get a truck 2 years newer, and less than half the miles that his current truck has. Looks like the only option that 05 is missing from being full loaded is a sunroof, so the only difference between the trucks is the type of leather and a sunroof. Only major issue with the 05s is injectors, which are covered until 120k. Thats just my opinion.

IMO thats a trade down from an 03 King Ranch. Keep that truck! I'm at 275K miles and going strong!

ALright guys, spent half a day at the local ford dealer and i came to the conclusion they are total a holes, I went and looked at the 05 lariat first and looked decent, inside was nice... Took it for a little test drive and it was very SLUGGISH..

I kicked it wide open and it took it forever to get up to 70 mph. Honestly my truck wouldve hit a 100 and stopped before this 05 hit 70..I pulled back up to the dealership and popped the hood and it had the good ol cam phaser rattle... I mentioned it to the salesman and he acted stupid about it.

So i noticed they had a 08 xlt with 45,000 miles on it and were asking 16,900
http://jimbassford.com/San-Angelo/Fo...Truck/8811565/
i test drove it and it ran awesome, nice quick acceleration shifted smooth no cam phaser rattle. So told the salesman i was interested in that one.. He got all the info on my 03 and about 30 mins later he said we can give you 4,000 for the king ranch.. I told him that wasnt going to fly, after another 30 minute wait he said the max they would go is 4500 on the king ranch and with the trade in we were looking at 14,300 out the door.

I was trying to be fair and offered him 12,000 Cash out the door for it.. He took it to his manager and the manager got all butt hurt and said ive already got a better offer than that today.. so i said thanks and walked out the door.. I cant believe he let me walk for 2,000 dollars...

So i started looking on the internet in the fort worth area and i have found this truck, a 06 lariat with 61k miles
http://www.allensamuelshyundaifortwo...5cbfced46f.htm

after talking to the salesman over the phone and telling him about my trade he guaranteed me we could do 11,000 dollars out the door. I had my sister and brother in law look at the truck for me and they said it is in very nice shape with only 1 door ding on the door. No strange sounds or anything.. So do this sound like a decent deal? Went from 18,900 down to 11,000 out the door with my trade in.

keep the KR, and trade in another vehicle? We just don't want to see you down grade from king ranch status.

Again, keep your KR, the 03 was probably the most reliable year F-150 ever built. It has 144k on it, so what? It will go 300k. Why do you want to take a chance on a 5.4 3V with all its known issues? If you want a new truck, get a 2011+ with a 5.0 or EB.

Kingranchcoy, good job I'm glad you stood your ground and didn't get robbed. Hope this one works out.
Guys! I know you love your KRs. But believe me going to a newer Lariat is not a down grade.
These are very nice trucks!

That seems like a decent price, even for a 2x4. Nice truck, but you have a beautiful 03. Its a tough decision, and I'd be wary of the potential problems the 3v 5.4s can start to have at a few thousand more miles than that truck has.

Its up to you, but I'd probably keep your current truck unless you could get then to come down into the 12.5-13k range.

Ended up with a 07 supercrew with 63,000 miles...Managed to get a what i think is a damn good deal for my trade in... Got $6500 trade in and paid $10,200 out the door for the 07. It has the 4.6 but seems just a powerfull as the king ranch did.

Why didn't you call that guy that offered you all that money for your KR a while ago? Private party book on it is still about 8 grand.

From a reliability standpoint, you made a good choice getting a 4.6!

Yea, i was was kinda glad i found this truck with the 4.6.. Not heard anything really bad on them.. it seems to make good power, about the same or a little better than the 03 5.4, the 4.6 doesnt have the problems with the plugs and the cam phasers right? I filled up in Abilene when we got the truck and i filled it up on 75 dollars.. drove 120 miles and filled back up on 7 gallons.. Seems like it will do pretty decent on fuel mileage
