Straight pipe?

Well I have true dual dynomax bullets that have been on for about 3 months and was wondering if I should just bite the bullet and go with straight pipes because the bullets are not loud enough. Please help.

Thumbs up

Oh yeah ... ... by all means, trash them bullets!

Straight pipes all the way ....
.... it'll sound so doggone cool ....
.... and it'll draw lots of attention ....
.... all good I'm sure.

In all seriousness ..... ignor that above. It's not what I would say to a friend asking the same thing. I'ld tell a friend that loud pipes draw attention, some of it has $$$ attached and once there, there might be some other issues noticed that might add $$$ (more tickets).
I know this because I too once was a "toad" who just had to have loud pipes, who throwed good $$$ away on mods so I could then throw more good $$$ away on tickets. I also was on the writing end for over 30 years, loud pipes and stops for them lead me to a lot of other "good stuff" to write, sometimes I took tags, I even found a few stolen items that way and a few wanted or DUI drivers.

But I know how it is, we all have to learn in our own way .... Take care .......

I dunno, I've never wanted my '08 to sound like a '75 Silverado on its last legs lol

Had a friend who straight-piped his '07 XL with the 4.6, but even though the volume was there, it just didn't sound "right".

I thought the bullets only dropped the sound a few decibles over straight piped. Do you have high flow cats?, what is your setup. True duels, y piped, that all has to do with sound. Mine is true duels with a X pipe and bullets. Also what tips do you have on it. I switched mine from 4"x18" to a 4"x6" and it changed the sound. You could always put in an electric cut out before the bullets.

You could always install some old, worn-out exhaust manifold gaskets to really round out the sound.

If you want more volume while still keeping a tamed sound, go for a set of magnaflow 94106 high flow cats. They should help you get what you're wanting.
