Had an awesome 4th O' July!

Had a great time this year. Had a cook out with the family, crock pot barbecue, saw the fireworks, had an unexpected guest late in the evening...

Some lucky fellow now has a very nice Pioneer P2300DVD head unit, but I guess he couldn't figure out how to get that pesky Gryphon out.

I took the opportunity to upgrade to a JVC KW-AV60BT that same day. Comes with full Bluetooth support, a detachable face, a cable routed through to the glove box and a microphone on my side of the windshield for hands free shenanigans.

Honestly, I'm glad that they didn't just steal my truck and strip it (keys were left in it). Never thought someone would venture all the way into the middle of the woods where I live, but apparently they do now. Guess it's time to invest in a .357 magnum "security system"!

Dang that sucks! I have a similar JVC head unit with a detachable face plate which is one reason I bought it. It amazes me how far people go out of their way to make a few bucks.

Were you going to use the .357 Magnum to fire shots in the air after you found the truck was broken into?! lol.

That sucks, I'm sorry. Could have been a lot worse though, as you know. Was your truck unlocked or did they break in?

It was unlocked, never had a reason to lock it since I live in the woods. Guess no where is safe now...

unfortunately it was probably someone you know, or someone that has been out there before (contractor)

keep an eye out for your unit on CL. and make sure you write down your serial numbers to your new unit so you can prove its yours if it comes up for sale at a pawn shop etc. Makes it easier for police to track the unit.

Shocking. Makes me feel funny when this crap happens to me.

I assume the truck was open?

Yeah we suspect the neighbors kid, been into trouble with the police before, but nothing more than that.

The police got a serial number off the paper work I kept for it and are checking the pawn shops. I don't expect to get it back though.

Not too many contactors in the small GA towns. Most likely someone that lives nearby or one of their friends.

Sorry to hear this I know how you feel. I had the same thing happen to me about this time last year.

My truck was locked so they messed up the door getting in so having yours unlocked may not have been so bad. Also they used a prybar on the radio trim piece and ripped it out wires and all. At least on yours it looks like they took the time to unplug things first and it doesn't look like any marks on the dash. I had to rewire most everything.

I really have no use for thieves!
