Blacking out behind lenses

DO NOT TRY AND CLEAN THE CHROME AROUND YOUR HEADLIGHT BULB.

I was on the site reading how to remove the lenses too paint around the headlight.Everything went fine. The chrome around the headlight bulb was a little dirty so I thought I would clean it. BIG MISTAKE. The "chrome" looking stuff washed right off.

interesting.....i know the HD headlight bulb shrouds were touchy about this but the stock reflector bowls is another thing....you weren't running an HID PnP kit?

I agree. Having painted a couple 04/05 rectangular fogs, the clear reflectiveness is a cheap finish and will smeer off. Once it is dirty, leave it be or buy new lights.

The last time I blacked out behind lenses was at that frat party in...

(glass shatters, DSGSTX81 falls to ground clutching chest)

No one talks about that night

I have stock bulbs and thought I would clean the bowl. Now I am looking for a way to fix it, without buying another assembly. The so called chrome paint is not chrome.More aluminum looking.
