I want to buy an '04-'07 F-150 S/C FX4. I've found a couple that have leather but not heated seats. I know heated seats are standard with leather on most GM's I know of. This doesn't seem to be the case of Fords. Was it available on these trucks, and is it common?

 

Yes it was available, and it's only available on leather-equipped vehicles.

 

I'm not sure if they are as common in FX4s as they are in Lariats, but my truck, my dads truck, and my brothers truck are all lariats with heated seats, and most that I have seen have had heated seats.

See that's what I thought too. but my dad just picked up an 04 Lariat has leather but does not have heated seats. I assumed it would have. It also that I’m aware of does not have heated mirrors which my FX4 had.
Was the heated mirrors an option on the Lariats also? And not to get off topic if no heated seats or heated mirrors are the trucks still prewired for them?

I ask because I now have a Jeep which had no heated mirrors I added them and it was plug and play because they work off of the defrost switch.

 

I believe that heated mirrors were an option on the Lariats, but I'm not even sure if my truck has them or not because we get very few cold days down in Georgia so I woudln't ever need to use them. I think that power mirrors are pre-wired if you have manual mirrors, but I don't the heated option is. There is a how to on here somewhere about how to wire up the heated mirrors.

 

I've owned three Lariats. A '98, an '04 and now an '05. None of mine had heated seats.
I bought my 98 new off the lot. No heated seats.
Traded the 98 and special ordered my '04 with plenty of options that I wanted, but without heated seats. Just didn't want to pay for them. They are options, not standard equipment on Lariats.
Unfortunately I totaled that truck a couple months ago.

Last month I replaced it with a real nice 05. It is loaded with options but oddly enough it also does not have heated seats.

Guess the original owner didn't want to pay for them either.

 

They are likely part of the luxury package (power b4 ack glass, heated seats, heated mirrors, etc). My 08 lariat has all of that.

 

Heated seats are not part of a package. They are simply an option. A Lariat can come with or without them.
All three of mine had power rear sliders and heated mirrors with integrated blinkers.

 

if you want heated seats on an fx4, youll have to find one thats 06 and up with the luxury package. when i was looking for mine , it took me a while to find that package on an fx4.

 

I have them in my 07 but I actually installed a set in an explorer that I liked alot better than the factory ones. I think they were about $120 and took around 2 hours or so to install.

 

My 05 Larit Supercrew came with the Heated seats,Aftermarket ones can be installed & they work just as good I put the Dorman Aftermarket ones in My Wrangler & Expedition search eBay for Dorman Seat Heater Kits should be around $60 or so per seat.

 

I have installed these on an Astro van. The worked but not as well as factory ones do. The Astro had seat foam and padding on the seat cover. So the heat had to travel through about 1/2" of insulation. My butt got hotter since my weight crushed the insulation. The back never got as warm, and really that's were I want the heat. I plan on buying a cloth seat '04 FX4 so I'll be adding heaters.

 

My 07 Lariat has the heated mirrors but no heated seats
