Pass side headlight dim fuse keeps blowing out
Pass side headlight dim fuse keeps blowing out
Anybody have any ideas what could make this keep happening? I've replaced it 3 times now. Goes out about every 3-4 days.
Thanks for any input fellas!

I don't think a bad ground would blow a fuse... would it?
For the fuse to burn out it means there is too much current flowing.
have you tried replacing the bulb?
If its not the bulb, then it sounds like there is a short in the wiring somewhere
or you have a bad set of fuses??? Are you sure its the right size fuse? Maybe get a new set before you tear up the truck looking for a short in the wiring.

Just today I hauled a package of "high temperature" headlight bulb sockets to a mechanic so he could replace one behind a headlight where the terminals were crimped on the wire inside the plastic plug body and appearantly the crimp was loose enough to cause resistance and resistance increases heat and melts stuff like insulation and plug body's and if it goes on enough, one day a hot wire shorts on a ground and fuses blow.
Just sayin ....

You nailed it, Sir! I finally had enough of replacing fuses and bulbs. Took it to a mech and had him look at it. He showed me where way down in the socket on the pass side it was melted between two of the contacts. I ordered a new one and it'll be here Thursday. Hopefully that all it is but it sure seems that way.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Glad I helped someone ..... haha ..... Take Care .....
