Grill & Tailgate Emblem Recall?

I recently purchased an '06 SCrew XLT and I noticed even before the purchase, that both the grill and tailgate 'Ford' emblems were cracked and bubbly which is not a huge issue, but it is an eyesore to me. Does anybody know if there is/was a recall on these? I have a buddy that has an '05 F250 and I know his badges on the front fenders had the black paint chip out and they were replaced no questions asked, I am curious if these emblems are covered by Ford, or am I going to have to drop $50 on a new set?

Thanks in advance for any and all responses!!

no recall that i know of, just gotta bite the bullet and replace them. or just acetone them and make em all silver, but that might not look so good to some

Thanks Fivespeedsteed! Has anyone tried the overlays with adhesive compared to the actual full-on replacements? I am a little worried about damaging the paint around the emblem during removal.

The overlays work just fine. If you want to remove the emblems without damaging the surrounding paint, use high-test fishing line or line wire to cut through the adhesive on the back.

No recall since it's not a safety issue. It would only be replaced free under the bumper to bumper warranty which is 3 years / 36k miles.

The older 04 and 04 decals are better and don't do this. The issue is the Ford lettering sticking out on the newer ones.

Both my front and rear are delaminating on my 08.

My rear ford emblem is peeling off. I put a sticker over it making it black a good while ago.

"lifted54lariat" doesnt appear to be a valid user name, is there a thread on it or something?
