bulb out maybe. are you sure 4wd is working? my 4wd light wouldnt come on after 37 months at 18k, and 4wd wasnt working either. found out it was the transfer motor that switches from 2wd to 4wd. cost was $1200.00 for a new transfer motor and dealer install. thank God for extended warranty. cost me $125.00.

They quoted you $1,200.00 for a new ESOF Motor? I don't know how to break this to you, but the motor is somewhere around $200.00 and installation takes about 10 minutes - if you're really slow.

quoted my a$$. that was what the reciept the service department handed me when i picked the truck up. yeah, im sure it was a rip-off, but as i said, i paid my extended warranty deductible ($125.00) and went on down the road. if they ripped off the extended warranty company, thats not my problem.

now that i have no warranty or extended warranty, i am much more cautious and usually attempt to fix things myself before going to a shop. and i would NEVER go to the dealer for out of warranty service. its no secret they are a rip off. its why they are called a "dealer"
