Yes I understand how it works. Ford did this to prevent a total recall which would have cost them multi-millions. Nevertheless, I still feel good about good about getting my engine fixed at no cost to me, other than the work I decided to do on my own.

So the warranty is until 110K, for some reason I thought it was only 100K. Oh well either way I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't have an issue with mine. Currently have 83k.

I believe it's 120,000, not 110,000. There is a time limit with that also though.

120,000 miles is correct. Not sure of the time warranty.

Our #2 injector blew at 73k. You saw the picture.

Got the truck back today. Running good so far. Very, very quiet with the new phasers installed. Taking it out tomorrow for a 100 mi break in and then we'll see if/when the cat codes out.

Catalytic coded out Wednesday afternoon after just over 100 miles on the new engine. New cat on order.

That was silly of them to not do the cat at the same time. I think everyone that has posted with the injector problem, had the cats changed.

Not all were replaced.

Ford would not authorize the replacement until it coded.

I think it's even more silly that Ford does NOT replace the remaining potentially defective injectors on a brand new engine. On mine, I opted to replace them myself.

Ford Customer Service told me they won't replace any injector that isn't defective. I told them I hope they're happy possibly giving me eight short blocks.

I also considered leaving the old injectors in, but this was a PITA to go through and I need a reliable vehicle so that's why I replaced the other 7.

Anyway, the CAT has been replaced and wow! What a difference. I don't think this truck has this much power new!

My #7 failed....no engine damage. Lost Cat and 02 Sensors on that bank.

Ford will only replace damaged injector, leaves others in engine.

Most have #7 injector failure for the cause of the problem. Ford will only replace cats, 02 sensors etc after they fail. Usually takes about 30 miles and they throw a CEL.

Warranty is 120K miles and 11 years on the 05.

I had mine go around 73K miles...replaced under warranty and no issues since. Other 7 are in there until 120K miles. Truck currently is sitting at 89300 and running like a champ. Still a daily driver until I get my new commuter later this year then its going in the garage and only coming out for camping, hunting, fishing, snow days.

Looks like I need to replace mine! I'm sitting at 138,000 but haven't had any trouble outta mine yet. At least it's good to see they're taking care of you and not beating around the bush.

Yes you do need to replace yours. You're out of the warranty loop at this point! First warning of impending failure are some odd intermittent hard starts. We did have that problem within the two weeks of catastophic failure and engine destuction.

It's so nice to have it back 100% and no worry about these things anymore! And damn it runs good!
