trying to figure out if i put 35 x 12.5 x 20 toyos on my 06 4x4 screw that already has 3.73 gears, will i need to re-gear the truck or not. i hardly ever tow with it, when i do it is never a heavy load. (less than 4000lbs)
have seen alot of people on here running 35s that dont seem to have shelled out the cash for gears.
i dont want to burn up my tranny either.
so...is it needed or no?
i really want the 35s but if it will cause issues, i will go the 33 route....

if anyone on here running 35s with stock 3.73s can post how their truck is running and if they have had any issues would be highly helpful and greatly appreciated. thanks!
I ran 35's with 3.55 gears for 4 years. i never had any problems, it was just slow off the line and on the interstate. you'll want to get a
programmer to fix your speedo and transmission shifts.
i would make sure you have a transmission cooler tho.

i do plan on a programmer and i have the tow package with trans cooler so i should be good to go.
I've got an 04 screw with 3.73s and 35x12.5x20 and I don't mind it. It's not a race car but still does what I need to do. It pulls a small trailer just fine for me.. Not worth the money in my case.
If you drive hills at all you will want to regear. I drove mine with 35s and 3.73s for years and it was a complete dog going uphill, tranny was constantly shifting gears and it couldn't hold speed. Now with the 4.56 gears it chugs right up the mountains easy as cake. I always told myself I was fine with the stock gears, but after regearing I sincerely regret not doing it earlier.

I had 3.73 gears for 2 years on my 06 with 35x12.50x20 mud grapplers before i got my 38's and it was fine. Going down the highway I got 15-16 with my programmer. Just a little slow off the start but nothing to complain about. Save the money, you'll be fine!
thanks fellas. 35 x 12.5 x 20 toyo m/ts on 20" gloss black XD Hoss rims on order along with Hellbent steel 2.5 leveling kit.
