Just got the kit in, everything looks very nice. What is the exact torque spec? Ive read 290 and 300 ft lb. Where are you finding these to rent, oriellys said max they had is 150. thanks
I had no luck finding a loaner wrench. I ended up buying one harbor freight. I believe the torque is 295 ft bl; out of the Haynes and chiltons manuals

FWIW: I ran my new centric brake/hub setup for one week in my daily commute and I pulled my wheel off to check everything and to my surprise in that one week of my commute I found a lot of dust and sand in the hole of the new hub! It rained hard that week and one day I drove thru rain. So, I measured the inside diameter which was 2.70" and I looked around and found some trailer dust caps for these new hubs. I found some and first made sure they would clear my rims and such. The pair I bought had a 2.72" OD and they would not fit without some slight re-engineering, I took my needle nose pliers and made 3 small recesses evenly spaced on the dust cap lip just to give me enough slake to drive the caps in with my rubber mallet, they fit fine after the adjust. Weather this mod will help save my new bearings or not I don't know but for $5 for the pair, I have some peace of mind about trash and water splashes getting in there. YMMV: use at your own risk!

What did you all do to the spindle bolt itself before installing the new hub assembly on it? Clean it off and grease it or just simply ignore it and install? I figured shoot some brake cleaner on the dirty spindle cleaning it off, and apply a slight amount of synthetic grease, is that ok? I assume these bearings are already greased as well, doesn't specify but of course would imagine they are.
I plan on tackling this tomorrow. What torque spec did you go by, I guess I could call Centric tomorrow, thanks.

Like you said the bearings are sealed, clean the spindle with brake cleaner and if you like apply some light grease and reassemble.Originally Posted by tman07f150

Just did the install on Saturday. Got the trq wrench from harbor freight, been wanting one so not a bad investment with 20% coupon.
The Centric components went on great and truck hasn't stopped this smooth in a long long time, ready to put some miles on it hope it holds up great. Put on the Wagner thermo quites front and rear with new rear rotors as well. Went with the premium front rotors as well.

I have a 2008 2WD SuperCrew Lariat with 66K miles on it. I replaced all 4 tires at about 65,000 miles-ish and it drove like a new truck at first. Now, it's all over the road, especially at 45-65mph and vibrates when stopping from those speeds. Sounds like brakes/warped rotors could be the culprit?

The Ford shop manual calls the spindle nut a "wheel end nut" and specifies only 20 (twenty) ft lbs torque.
Haynes manual calls it a spindle nut and claims 295 ft lbs.
That's one heck of a difference... That 295 makes me think of shear off stresses.

I replaced my front rotors with the centric 2WD conversion kit that included everything I needed with exception of the brake pads on the front and new centric rotors on the back at Approx. 85,000 miles. Upon changing out the rotors and spindles I also replaced ball joints and Rancho Quick-lift to even things out. The first stop was the alignment shop to get things all back in line due to all the front end work and new parts. Ford OEM rotors are iffy at best with stock 17 inch wheels, running 20 inch wheels magnifies any faults in the older trucks and steering components.

I know this is an old post, but just want to make sure this is the right part from Rock auto for the kit. Rotors, hubs, spindle nut????

Do you know if the spindle nut is included in this kit?
