I'm not giving up the truck. There was a reason I went with the same type of truck again. It is just irritating to spend that kind of money and immediately need repairs. Ford's 169 point inspection for certified pre-owned is a joke. The whole point of certified pre-owned is your supposed to be confident in buying like it's new.

A used truck inspection and sale is only as good as the dealer. There are lots of questionable dealers out there.

I just had a rear brake hose replaced on my truck on Monday for the very same condition. It collapsed internally and was acting as a check valve not letting the caliper relax.

Something you should check into if it is not your e-brake hanging.

Lot's of great ideas here.

Couple years ago I bought a small hand held Infrared Thermmeter, uses a battery, is hand held, just point and shoot. Good for all kinds of stuff. AC temps, heater hose temps, radiator hose temps, temp of the grass on the ground, temps of trees, looking at hottest spots in the garage, see how hot that Undercover get's in August ....
.... and a perfect way to look for a hot caliper or rotor or to compare the rear parking brake drums which are the small raised portion in the center of the rear rotors.

Well, received word from the dealership that my parking brake actuator was frozen. They said they tore apart the rear brakes and found this to be the cause of the heat, smell and occasional pulsating. They fixed at no charge. Hopefully this takes care of things for a while.

Which is completely a legitimate reason to complain...its just seemed at first that you were ******* the F150 as a whole because of this one truck.
