Solution to lack of a driver's foot rest?

It's always been annoying on my '07 to not have a foot rest for my left foot while driving. Does anyone have an easy solution?

I don't know anything about these, but might be worth looking in too.... and let me know how it works out cause I want something for mine too.

Or I'm sure one of these ebay finds could be made to work.

' I used some marine plywood, some aluminum, some nice dark material and a piece of a truck mudflap (all pieces that I had laying around). It took me about 2 hours to build and it looks like something Ford should have equipped the truck with from the factory. I cross hashed the truck mudflap material with grooves once I had it built. I have a great camera but don't have the knowledge of how to download and post the pictures or I'd do that. I got used to the DP in my wife's car and couldn't stand driving the truck without one. It wasn't hard to build at all, but I love doing that kind of thing.

Door panel too. Kick the seat back cruise control and throw your leg on the door panel and the right one on the hump in the middle.

Agreed, at least not in this vehicle. The seating position is comfortable for me. However, I do like them in my sports cars because it keeps my foot away from the clutch and is more comfortable in a more "reclined" seating position. They also provide a nice solid brace for body control in the twisties.

Door panel where you would put a soda bottle...as said before just do it, then right foot on the hump in the middle...so comfy.

Question..... those of you that think it's comfortable without the dead pedal, do you drive with your right hand on the wheel or your left? I've always driven manual transmissions, but my truck is auto and I always drive seated the same way I would if it were a manual. My right arm on the console and left on the top of the wheel. I think that puts my left foot in a position that would be more comfortable with a dead pedal in the area where the clutch would be. Without it, I end up with my knee pressed against the door, and that gets annoying too.

I think it might have something to do with the height of the seat. I have a 2012 f350 xl work truck, and it doesn't have the dead pedal either, but I've never felt the need for it in that truck. I think the seat is a little higher from the floor though.

So those of you that are comfortable without the dead pedal, do you have power seats? I bet you can adjust the angle of the bottom of the seat and the height from the floor?

I tried the cup holder thing today, it felt like the way a 16 year old girl would drive! My knee almost sticking out the window.... not for me.

I'm glad I don't have a dead pedal. I can stretch my left leg out way up under the dash without a problem, first truck I can do that in. I'm 6'3" btw.
