Kegerator in the bed plumbed into the cab. Better deal. Does that violate any "open container" laws?!

lol. i figured it was fishy, the motocraft emblem didnt look right, and the cashier knew all about what was going on. lol. plus the footage was chopped together where he was drilling.

i think i might toy with making an organizer thing for my bed. ive seen people put 2x8s in that slot towards the back of the bed, maybe i could make one of those and have an array of different sized squares, one of which fit a 12 volt cooler snugly.

we should start a thread on this. im always goign to friends houses, and taking beers with me. im not condoning drinking and driving, i only have a couple, if i do more than that the gf drives, but a 12v cooler would come in very handy. they sell them at wallmart too.

we could each make setups and show them in said thread. i got a feeling mine will be along the lines of a removable wood divider system towards the back of the bed, with z4 products bed lights, and ill hardwire in a couple cigarette lighters back there, for any tailgating accessories, and the 12v cooler.

I totally agree on starting a thread on this built. While I like the idea of having it in the bed of the truck for like tailgating and all is great I do like the idea of it being inside the cab for like sodas and sandwiches for roadtrips.

FYI - The Flex console cooler is NOT run off the AC. It has it's own condenser. I was seriously looking at a Flex when they first came out. The cooler will keep ice cream frozen, no AC supplied system can do that.

I hope no one is actually thinking of doing this, the condensation alone would be enough to cause all kinds of issues with mold and what not. Plus don't most of the consoles have a 12v outlet in them?

The flex cooler I was looking at online was ac cooled. They might just have both options. And no from 04-08 I know the console didn't have a 12wonderful v socket inside the console just on the back if it for the rear seat occupants

I don't yet have a "12 vdc coolerator" but I do have some imagination. I have a 07 F150 Scab and it has the center console, no way would I want to convert it to a ice chest or built in refrigerator though. Like already mentioned, mold is one concern. Drainage is another. Besides, I sometimes have other stuff in there.

Below is a picture of what I did to allow our Yorkie-Pom to ride safely (I've investigated minor crashes and seen families with drivable cars who still lost a pet to a broken neck) and not be shut in a box way down in the seat.

I only added a single rear center seat belt from AutoZone to do this, it's removable, and I have a simular setup though with a lower bottom box for the other cars that works in 3 cars.

I can easily see a way to add a "12 vdc coolerator" that can also be easily remopved to the tailgate or other vehicle or even taken into a motel room if desired. Seat belt the lower box in that also levels it if desired .... use some cabinet latches or other means to secure the cooler on top. You can even change colors.

Just put a tarp in the bed, fill her with some cold water and tons of ice. Long as it's not hot you've got the coolest beer cooler around, and the party will follow
