Why don't you send it to PHP for a Gryphon conversion and some custom tunes?

$25 plus $60 per tune.

Note - they no longer upgrade the original "gameboy" style Evo or 97-03 Evos.

Have you tried simply disconnecting the battery for a minute?

UPGRADING YOUR EVOLUTION TO A GRYPHON

If your truck is a 2004-2008 F-150, you'll need to send your programmer to us to be upgraded. When your Evolution arrives, we will change the case and update the firmware for a $25 charge. Your custom tunes will be uploaded onto your programmer before it ships back to you.

CUSTOM GASOLINE CALIBRATIONS
We are pleased to offer custom tunes to meet your driving needs. In addition, for those of who like to tweak your vehicles, we are also able to provide custom tuning for modified vehicles, including Cold Air Intake Kits, Exhaust Systems, Electric Fans, Power Pulleys, and others.

CALIBRATION DESCRIPTION and IMPORTANT INFORMATION PRICE
(Per Calibration)
85 Octane Performance
87 Octane Performance
89 Octane Performance
91 Octane Performance
93 Octane Performance For maximum fuel economy, you should choose a performance calibration, and most people will use a performance tune as their daily driver. Our performance tunes provide aggressive fuel curve and timing curve changes to help maximize efficiency and performance -- not just at full-throttle, but throughout the entire throttle and RPM range.
Fuel economy gains rely greatly on driving style. $60
85 Octane Tow
87 Octane Tow
89 Octane Tow
91 Octane Tow
93 Octane Tow PHP's tow tunes are written to maximize pulling capability and low to mid RPM torque. Though many customers see fuel economy gains vs. stock or even canned tunes, these calibrations are not written specifically for fuel economy. $60

To get the most from your programmer (and your money!), we suggest spacing your octane levels by more than one step since the performance difference between adjacent octane levels would be comparatively minimal. For example, we would recommend choosing the 87 and 91 octane (performance or tow) tunes or 89 and 93 octane tunes opposed to the 87 and 89 or 91 and 93 octane tunes. Of course, your choices should also reflect the fuel quality that is available in your particular area.

We can also tune for Flex-Fuel vehicles that are able to run E85 and just about any modification including Superchargers, Turbochargers, Nitrous, Cams, Intakes, and Exhausts. Some modifications require that tuning be done on a dyno using wide band O2 sensors in order to prevent engine damage. Please call for more information.

WE WILL NOT CUSTOM TUNE the OLD "GAMEBOY" STYLE EVOLUTION, the
1997-2003 F-150 EVOLUTION, or the 7.3L PSD EVOLUTION; WE APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE OUR CUSTOMERS. ANY OF THESE PROGRAMMERS RECEIVED IN OUR OFFICE WILL BE RETURNED AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE.

*I* am not PHP!

I believe the device can hold 3 different tunes. Have you clicked on both links in my last post? Have you read any threads in the programmers forum?

It was just a thought ... ... thought maybe it "adapted" itself into something you didn't recognize.

The Edge/Gryphon has three "program" slots. You can run whichever you set. Either a canned or custom, whatever is in your unit. To answer your question; you would reload your truck PCM with the tune you want to use for the occasion. If you choose, you can modify any of the three tunes that are in your unit without "losing" the program you are fiddling with. All the info is in the instructions, and on the PHP forum pages.
