That edge programmer and the CAI are going to cause your truck to run lean. Get it custom tuned before you end up with damage to your truck.

Gearing will help, but you also need to consider you're running heavy mud tires on a 1/2 ton truck with a V8 engine. You may be able to squeeze 1-2 mpg out of it after doing E-Fans and gearing, but the best mod you can do is swap for some all terrains and drive like a grandma.

Or buy a commuter car.

The programmer and CAI will cause the truck to run lean, which could damage your cats and o2 sensors, and cause you lots of headaches with the 5.4 down the road.

What he said

And there's a difference between accepting defeat and throwing money at problem you can't fix.

Like I said, get rid of the edge, get a custom tune, get some all terrains, drive like a grandma.

If you have the money left over get it regearded and some e-fans.

With 35" pro comp xtreme AT's (super wide and heavy) Stock Edge CS and Gotts, I was able to average about 15 mpg for the tank,

Getting some better ATs though as I do a lot of freeway driving
