Flareside LED Tails

I've been trying to find some LED taillights for my flareside. I found some on ebay, but there is no way to tell if they are any good; bright enough.

Anyone have any knowledge on FS LED tails?

Thats quite a price, I built my own for not even half that price and they're brighter

if you remember my video i posted, they are the exact same as his only mine have a slightly painted lens because to me, they look goofy on a black truck not smoked since they are so big. for the OP, the brand is DEPO and i've had mine for quite some time and they still perform flawlessly.

here they are with painted lens,

running lights compared to halogen tails with silverstar bulbs(damn those PnP hid kits. haha)

Thanks folks, those look like the ones on ebay too. Do yours have a built in resistor? Cruise still working?

yep built in resistor. and cruise is a third brake light issue, tail lights will not effect it to my knowledge.

Been looking for those lights in RED myself! Can find in black, carbon, and chrome-clear.
I like the way they light up tails and brake above and below the back up.

I think the red will look better, especially on a red Flareside.

But then again .... .... those Black or Carbon lights might look "OK" as well?

depending on how good you are with rattle can, there is a way to make them red. lol if you want a red lens, vht makes a red paint similar to their popular black although i have never seen it used, just on advance autos shelf. lol OR you could do what i have planed for my moms white truck which is get a set, open them up, and PTM the insides. would deff be a one of a kind since there are no red aftermarket led tails for flaresides. '

p.s. get ahold of raptor05121 in the above post, he can retrofit leds into your stock ( RED ) tails.

I think it's the taillights that effect cruise cause my 3rd BL has been blown for months, I just fixed it.

The CHMSL is on the same circuitry as the cruise control, blown bulb or not

I've seen some I like except for color. Was wondering how hard they are to open up, the aftermaorket ones? Those with the clear outer lenses and chrome inner bodies even on the sides .... thinking about how to open them and paint that flashy bling bling chrome parts the same dark gray as came stock on my headlights? To "match" looks.

im sure a heat gun on low and you will be fine, just take your time ya know. aftermarket lights are notorious for having cheaply made sealant so it can't be too difficult. chances are, its probably a three piece light. (LENS, BODY/COVER/SHROUD/ETC, THEN ACTUAL LEDS) if so, it'd be super to easy to paint the color to match. probably some dupli color perferct match Dark Shadow Grey would get it pretty close to your heads but who knows. it's defiantly worth a shot. lol
