Got room for 1 more here?

Well, as of yesterday I will officially be calling the 2004-2008 forum my home on this site. After 7 years, I've decided it was time to get something different. I'm gonna miss my old truck but it will be in good hands because my dad bought it.

I found this truck online and it's exactly what I have been looking for. Its a 2008 F-150 XLT Screw w/6.5' bed and the 5.4l v8. It's a Ford CPO with 30k on it, got a warranty until 2014 or 100k miles. The truck may as well be brand new because the original owner took great care of it. It still smells new on the inside. The rear seats don't appear to have ever been used. Being that it's a CPO, every fluid has been changed so it's good to go. I bought it yesterday in Houston and on the trip back to Baton Rouge I managed to get 18.5mpg out of it cruising 70-75. I'm glad I went with the 5.4 because it definitely has the grunt I have been needing. We've decided to name it "Rocky" because the color is Dark Stone Metallic.

I only have 1 picture so far, but there will be many more to come I'm sure.

And here's a picture of my old truck

Damn, 18.5 is awesome for one of these trucks. I usually get around 16 with mine and mainly drive on the highway and keep it around 55-70.

I don't have the computer that shows the MPG, the 18.5 was hand calculated.

Its a 4x2 with the 3:55ls rear end so that helped me out on the mileage.

Thanks for all the compliments fellas, I've driven it around all weekend and I love it.

Seth, its crazy how much money you save in Houston. This truck in Baton Rouge would easily sell for 4k more than I paid.

New Truck

Good looking truck you got there. I had the same travel issue a couple of years ago when I was looking, seemed the only 4x2's I could find were in Fla, Tx or Ca. When I finally found the one I wanted, it was out in Los Angeles so it was fly out and drive it back.

Curious, how bad was it dealing with 2 DMV's for you? I had to jump through a bunch of hoops dealing with getting a truck in Calif and registering it in Minn. Took almost a month of prep work to get everything arranged ahead of time in my case. Hope yours was easier than what I ran into.

Good lucking truck! Is the color dark stone metallic or stone green metallic? I have the 2008 in stone green metallic. I love the color, but is tough to keep clean.

no kidding about the truck prices in houston. What's nice is people here don't work their trucks, they buy the biggest truck they can then use it as a grocery getter.
I just picked up an '06 harley truck for $14 and it looks brand new.
