Random Line-X question

A while back my dad bought a lifted jeep wrangler and has been going crazy with mods. The guy we bought it from had taken all of the interior fabric out because he was he was going to Line-X it all. When we got it that was what we were going to do too, but since we havent gotten to it the more we drive it we are unsure of it. How much does line-X block heat? With the removal of the fabric it also removed that heat resistant stuff and you can definitly feel the heat after driving it for a while. If we put that heat stuff in there I don't think the Line-x will have anything to stick to. Any suggestions or comments....?

line-x should cut down on the heat it will also cut down on sound.

if possible before getting it line-x'd remove everything but the driver seat to save on labor, should save you a decent amount of money.

heres a photo how i did it in my fj40, wish i could tell you a cost, but i had the entire thing sprayed at once and brought it in sandblasted so their was less labor involved for them

I gutted my 76 Blazer and had the entire interior Line-X'ed. I ended up putting a rubber bed mat down in the back and rubber floor mats up front because we would burn our knees and legs when we wore shorts it got so hot. You will also notice a lot of noise over having padding and carpet but it will be better than bare metal. I like having Line-X in the interior for keeping it clean but the trade off is heat and more noise than stock. I would consider Line-X'ing it first and then putting down carpet as well.

Maybe the Line-X wouldn't get so hot if you used a light color?

he's referring to engine and exhaust temperatures making the floor hotter not just the outside temperature.

I have ridden in my buddies old cj5 which has been line-x inside and out and its not bad. I am not sure of the range, but I am pretty sure it can be applied in different thicknesses. One would think the more you have in there the more insulation you would get.

06yz250f - you have any finished pictures of your above project, looking good up above

Put some of this down first http://www.lizardskin.com/

It works for heat and sound.
