4.2l exhaust again?

ok i know the exhaust questions get annoying and have been purdy much answered a million times over, however i have the 4.2l with a gibson performance extreme dual exhaust. Its not loud enough or deep enough. i know most the ways to make it better without takin way from the exhaust i alreaady bought, but i cant find headers for my engine, or high-flo cats. i did find a glasspack replacement for my gibson muffler, but i dont know if its worth the effort or money. So my question is what can i do, or if someone has the same deal what have you found?

Buy a truck with a V8 if you want good exhaust sound. Can't make a V6 sound good and be loud.

Maggie makes high-flow cats and the only long tubes are from the 3.8L Mustang

X2

If you're dead set on making your V6 heard, swap that Crapson muffler out for a 40 series and swap out the stock cats for a set of 94106 hi-flows. It will sound good enough to pass for a V8 at idle, but anything passed 1500 and the rice will show through.

My 06's V6 actually got worse gas mileage than my 08 with the 4.6L V8.

Maybe I have learned to lighten my foot a bit, but i've been averaging 18 - 21 on the V8 (mostly highway) and used to get 16-18 on the V6, also mostly highway

I agree. The 4.2 is definitely not a gas saver. I've heard many reports of 4.2 and 4.6 getting just about the same MPGs. Had it not been for the manual transmission, I'd never be driving a V6.
