I got the grille off of e-bay, was not sure what to expect when I baught it but its actually a solid grille. It came with a black surrond so it was just a matter of 10 bolts to replace. You could have removed it from the surrond it came with and throw it into your existing surrond if your truck is not black and you want it to match your body color.

I'm not too into it myself neither. I say redo it with another set but paint them. Its worth the time and effort. Much nicer looking and no output lost.



Not trying to down your work, I just always suggest the painting fogs method whenever possible

I bought the same grill off ebay a year ago, since then the gloss black around the outside is now flat black from sun fade.

I understand the aesthetic purpose, but smoking the whole cover assembly would definitely reduce brightness, correct?

I like Darren's method. Looks, but no decreased performance. Can't say I understand the function of chrisw06's lights.
