What are the known problems for 04-08's
I just bought a 2006 yesterday....4.6 with 49005 miles...4x2
Glad to see there are such few issues with these trucks. My one and only Dodge was a nightmare....wish I had seen a thread like this before I bought that one...ha

Here is the thread for the window switch.

I did mine back in the early fall and worked great ever since.

Not sure if there's an upgraded line or not. I got mine online at rockauto, it was the high pressure line that was cracked, was a slow leak.
Excellent thread here guys!
Well,
that goes a long way towards answering a question I've been meaning to look up the answer to for some time.
Thanks!
I believe the injectors only affected '04 and '05, but it can't hurt to check. Part number of the new injectors ends with -DC, the problem injectors end with -DB. Spark Plugs are a pain to change, but at 43K miles, you shouldn't have as much of an issue as I had 125K km's (roughly 78K miles). Wouldn't hurt to check the fuel filter, either.

Ive had a wicked water leak inside the cab on the passenger floor and I cant figure out where its coming from at all. I thought it was the ac inside under th edash but its something else im sure of it as its still there when it rains pretty good. I assume its the windshield I hope
Great thread!
I bought my '04 two years ago to the date. So far just normal stuff. I replaced my driver's side window regulator, did the spark plugs, pads and rotors all the way around, fluids and filters, and waxed the hell out of it! If you take care of these trucks and use Motorcraft oil and parts they'll last forever. Have fun!
At 28,000 miles my shift motor on the transfer case had failed it wouldn't shift into 4wd, it was replaced by my local dealer under warranty and IWE solenoid failed from water damage, it was the older style without the hood/cover other than that it's been a great truck. I should update the spark plugs in the near future.

right after the spark plugs should be - the 4wd solenoid for the front actuators and then the fuel pump driver module. i already replaced the solenoid due to the grinding starting and now waiting on the fpdm that i have ordered. the solenoid can cause an expense and 4wd problems and the fpdm will leave you walking.
edited this -- to say i just changed my fpdm and it was severly corroded. dont think it would have lasted a whole lot longer. glad i got it before it left me on the side of the road. replacing it was cheap insurance.
