Keyless entry code find

I know this has probably been answered a million times on here, but I searched and cant find a step by step on how to do it.

I read it was behind the rear seat back. But how do I know if the back of my rear seat folds down or not? I have three loop straps that hang out of the top? What are those things for?

Also I looked and tried to find those mounting positions next to the metal loops on the bottom to stick a screw driver in to and I cant find it.

Or could I solve this all by just plugging in my scanner and finding it?

Just gotta pretend its your wife....

Use a 6" flatehead driver, feel the inner side portions of the upper bar, need to feel it in an upward motion. once you find it try getting the driver on it, push in, lift up the seat. Fit a fair sized book or something to keep it braced up, repeat the other side, pull out.

Im just going to have my dad hook the computer at work up to it lol. Hes the service manager of our local ford dealer so we'll just hook it up and figure it out, itll be pain free haha.

And at the wife comment...I cant remember the last time I took a 6 inch screw driver to the GF...Or can I?....

Once you guys find the factory code there is a way to make your own personal code. Check your owners manual. I don't remember the exact procedure but will try and post it tomorrow once I get my manual out. MUCH easier to remember a personal code vs the factory code.

Can't you just have a dealer do a vin search for the code? If it is still the default code from the factory it should be in your book. (assuming you have the original one)

Not sure what you are asking, but the code is stored in the memory in the BCM, which on the 04 up Screws is located on the back wall behind the rear seat back. There should also be a sticker outside that BCM that has the code on it. Also, the code was on a card placed in the manual, but for some reason many dealers remove this. I guess, so they can get into the vehicle if necessary while they have it. Looking up the VIN will not do anything for you. A computer with the security program has to scan the BCM to retrieve the code. Some dealers will do it for nothing, some charge between $50 and $100 to retrieve the code.

code is on the module behind the rear seat on the driver side....it is a PITA to get to but once you get it write it down. I have mine memorized now and left some DNA on the back seat levers so my truck will always be identified as mine

FYI...there is sharp metal back there and its a tight squeeze. Don't be affraid to get a little mad at it and give it some muscle.
