Hey guys - so like everyone else, when I got into my first vehicle I had a book an inch thick full of everything I was going to do to it. (1979 Ford F150 XLT) Well being in high school and not making much....to be blunt I made money to pay for the gas going through the 460 100%

Got a $200 paycheck at 16 and went straight to the gas station !

But long story short...(you can start viewing the full story by going to http://loudliftedloved.blogspot.com/ ) but I am ordering a ca php gryphon at the end of next week and slowly but surely I should be able to do headlights, tails, and a roush grill by the end of this year. I want to start a thread on my progress and have high hopes for input from other truck owners on their plans for this year. Alright so I was looking at getting the PHP Edge CS or CTS - I am currently leaning towards the CS for a couple of reasons:

1. I would not benefit from the rear video capabilities 100% because at this time I will not be pulling anything, any time soon.
2. Its hard for me to justify spending more for the touch screen when the the CS fits "semi flush" (if that is such a thing) in the mounting pod.

 

My buddy made this and I thought it was pretty sweet

 

I can't wait to order the PHP CS tuner. Should be able to order it this Friday - give it a few days for shipping and I'd expect to have it within 2 weeks from today I'll post pictures of it as soon as it arrives.

Also coming soon - I am going to power paint the bumpers, nerf bars, gas tank door cover, tow hooks, and eventually when I get new wheels those will be power painted as well. I am thinking of either a wet black or a semi flat black with silver/gray flakes.

Wow - your truck is sweet! You sell the red one, or you going to keep it? If you part it out I would be interested in that lift! is that an 8" or a 12"? What truck will you be working on next?

 

No, she stays with me. Its a 10" Rize, I spent far too much to ever get rid of this truck; plus I kinda like it

Next truck will be a Raptor or another FX4. I am undecided at the moment, but already have a laundry list of mods for either direction..

How many miles do you have an your truck? Reason I ask is I am on the fence on how much to plan an spending on my truck - I am at 102,000 miles

 

If I were going with one of the color gryphons the CS would be my choice too.

Spend what ya can man! Do what makes you happy and make the truck what you want it to be, especially if you plan on keeping it a while. I do regret spending all the money i did on mine at times, simply because I could have saved a great deal more for other things or had other luxury's outside of a decked out truck..

I just rolled 80,000. I am looking to run it up to 100k before the new truck, but that is not set in stone.

 

So here is an update on my Gryphon/Edge CS Tuner order...

Now I totally understand being a busy company and the high demand from your customers on delivering a product but the only part I am starting to get frustrated about is that they (from my understanding) don't need the tuner and dash pod in order to write the custom tunes. Now don't get me wrong, I have heard nothing but amazing reviews about the actual product (custom tune) and the complaints about delivery times....but on the CS and CTS tuners themselves, others have reported quite fast deliveries. The only reason why I am writing about his on the forums now is that I have already been charged for the product, and here is the time-line so far:

I placed the order sometime Friday the 11th

I wrote an email and later called PHP on Monday the 14th during their phone hours to confirm that my order form had been received because I had not received a confirmation. I spoke with someone (whom was very informative and helpful on my specific application) and he confirmed that they had received my order and that it would be processed that same week.

On 2/15/2011 (the next day) I received an email invoice for my order and I checked my bank account to confirm that they had indeed charged me for the: tuner, dash pod, 2 custom tunes, etc....$550+
The invoice stated the tuner and dash pod would ship 2/16/2011* *Depending on workload it could ship sooner or later than that date (or something similar to, but I do not have the invoice in front of me)

I emailed them again sometime around the 17th to see if it had actually been shipped and didn't here anything back until Sunday the 20th - they emailed me with a revised invoice that stated they would ship the order on 2/21/2011 (the 21st was a holiday, so no mail) and it would be drop shipped from the Edge to my shipping address (keep in mind this is an hour away from where I live in UT)

I called PHP again on 2/24/2011 to see if the order had actually shipped yet, and they said that the order was do to ship that day the (24th, Thursday) and that I would be emailed a tracking number and to expect the order Monday the 28th......Its Friday night the 25th and I still have not been emailed a tracking number, their office hours state Monday through Friday from 10-3pm EST (so the chances of receiving a tracking number tomorrow are zero....)

I am STOKED for the tuner and especially the custom tunes. From what I understand Bill is a genius when it comes to custom tunes and I can't wait to see what he can do for my truck. I may be over reacting, but what can I say.

****UPDATE: Bill gave me a call last Wednesday (minutes after I received the package) to explain what the issue was...apparently the person who is in charge of processing the orders was out on vacation for a couple weeks with no forwarding email message. So the orders were stacking up with everyone under the impression that they were being handled. Once the issue was found out, Bill made sure all those orders were sent out asap. I was extremely fortunate that I am only a day away from where they were shipped from so I could receive it pretty quick. PHP has excellent customer service and I couldn't be happier. They came through and were upfront with me so I wasn't left in the dark and didn't feel I was given the run around so cheers to Bill and Cody ****

So here is an update on the PHP/Edge tuner - I called Edge yesterday and spoke to one of their techs explaining that I am being told the order will be drop shipped from their facility directly to me and I am looking for an order status. He was very helpful and actually called Bill for me (They must have numbers unavailable to the public because this was outside PHP's office hours)

Apparently the person who is in charge of sending order out has been on vacation...So supposedly Bill was able to put in the order himself and it should be shipping today (Tues) and the Edge tech I should have it tomorrow...SOOOOOOOOOOOOO I will wait one more day
