I've used K&N in all of my trucks for decades.....I don't know if they are any better than the other "rechargeable" filters....but, I like them

I have an oil-less AFE filter in my 06, and Im really happy with it. Only one other choice for me, and that would be the Motorcraft filter.

Missed one - the BEST one:

http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx

They come in a size to fit yer stock intake.

Recommended by some seriously smart folks on here - surprised you didn't find it.

It is a dry filter, non-paper, reusable.

While I'm not aware of any such guidelines on here, this info is covered in detail in 2 free publications - the Owners Guide and the Driving yer SUV or Truck Guide - both available for viewing / saving here: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...&menuIndex1=24

Just choose the appropriate year and vehicle in the drop-downs...

I like Motorcraft filters... they seem to seal on my truck's airbox well. I've seen trucks with Fram and K&N dropins and they don't have a big enough seal like the Motorcraft ones do.

Ive got a no name reusable filter I bought on ebay for $18 in my truck. I figured its cheaper than buying two paper Fram filters so its worth it to me.

I've always stuck with Motorcraft, but put a K&N in my '08 when new and am happy with it.
