7 yr. old truck with low miles. I'm guessing it listed for 38 to 39k new and now worth about 15-16k if in good shape and never wrecked or abused. Does it have the moonroof and rear slider?

Location is a big factor. Where I am a low mileage nice shape truck like you describe would be $15k-$20k

KBB private party in my zip code is right around 20k less the cost of new tires and any needed repairs. You trying to buy one or sell one?

I am possibly buying. Located in SC, no repairs needed, no wrecks, one local owner, tires are small anyway but will need replacing in 10-15k miles.

Guy is a smoker but the truck is mint. My detailer has access to an "Ozone" machine and says after complete detail and ozone treatment...it'll be good to go.

Not keen on the smoke deal, but a one owner with this little miles and all bells and whistles (no sunroof but everything else) with maintenanc e records is extremely attractive.

I can get the truck for around 16k ish.

16 seems very fair for that mileage.

Don't buy an 04 or 05. Too many problems.

If you can hear the cam phasers, it may be best to take a pass. See if you can get them to change the spark plugs as a condition of the sale.

Buy it I would be asking at least 22k for my 2004 f150 with 26550 miles

As far as staying away from 04s 05s? Bad advice. by now any bugs would have surfaced and tghose that have not are well documented on this forum (as with any car/truck) and there are easy fixes. Look at Honda, Toyotas, etc... Every car has its quirks. My 05 has been a brute of a truck and done very well. I care for it well but I drive it cross country without hesitation and did so just a few months ago.

Im in SC as well i just picked up a 2008 Supercrew XL pretty much everything you can add to a XL. Its 4x4, leveling kit, brand new 33" KM2's, tow package, power windows, locks ect., and just under 27k miles for 19,995. . . Hope this helps

Well I had him pony up for detail with OZone machine....and finalized purchase today.

2004 F150 Screw 4wd Lariat / black on black leather / 40,826 miles / one onwer / all maintenance records / ended up paying around 17k.

Alot for an 04 but clean one owner trucks with low miles are needles in haystacks.
