windshield squirters

I recently purchased my 2005 supercrew and have noticed that my squirters are not squirting water, well my passenger side does a little but not enough to even hit the windshield. I have checked the fluid level and it is good, have not checked anything else. Anyone else ever had this happen or know what I should look and check for? Thanks

I had that problem in my old truck but it was a Chevy, I'm not sure about the 05's but if you could get them off maybe dip them in CLR or something. I know I sometimes just put water in mine, and with our city water there is a lot of calcium in it so you might just have some build up in the "squirter thingy". I thought about this after my shower head is caked in all that nasty stuff. Now I try to use some kind of wiper solution if possible.

okay, so I checked the tank and it's full of fluid, the motor is working, a little water trickles out of the squirter but it does not spray. The squirters are under that trim piece so does that just pop off to check lines?

dudeness, take a compressed air hose and gently....blow air into one of the squirters. the pressure will blow any dirt out the other squirter with whatever fluid that was in the hose. do this back and forth a couple of times, and you'll get the full squirt action. i would also suggest draining/siphoning the reservoir of all fluid. fill it back up with a quality windshield washer/deicer fluid, and run the washers for a couple of cycles to purge the line between the tank and the right hand squirter. i don't know what was in mine, but it had zero deice capability. i checked mine with an antifreeze tester. if your tank freezes, and you hit the washers, you can make a bigger problem. i had the same problem when i bought my used 04 screw. the reservoir/tank had a bunch of crap that i stirred up before siphoning it all out. good luck !

i just had to replace one of mine after it wasnt shooting any liquid out any more. I unhooked the sprayer from the hose and pressed the clean button to make sure it was the sprayer, and i did get a good amount of liquid from the plumbing. Tried cleaning the sprayer with compressed air, but never could get it clean. guessing i had a pretty good size something stuck in there... so just ran down the the local dealership parts store and got a single sprayer ($10?!?), hooked it up, reassembled my wiper cowl, and was good as new.

I had an issue with mine....check your reservoir and make sure there isnt any contamination in there. I someone managed to get some goopy film substance in mine from the windshield washer chemicals. It plugged the screen that was inside the reservoir thus causing a lack of pressure to squirt the window.

Get yourself a hanger or piece of metal and go fishing in the reservoir tank and see what you find. It fixed my issue.

That happened to my daughter's 07 Kia Optima. She let the washer fluid get too low and the film developed as the remainder dried up. She filled it and broke the film loose which clogged the screen. I took the pump off and cleaned it well along with the reservoir. Works fine now.
