#1 welcome

#2 slow down and learn what options the truck currently has, start by posting your axle code

#3 hang out and enjoy yourself while learning

You only have one option...install a locking differential in your truck, period. Regardless of what axle you have, your truck does not have any type of posi rear end. You'll have to research some of the companies out there (Eaton, etc)to see if they make a diff for your rear end. If they do, great.

In a 2WD, 4.6? You're right, he might. Many people still don't consider LS a posi though.

"Posi" is a generic term to describe a limited slip - GM calls theirs "Positraction", which is what made the term "Posi" popular. Ford calls theirs "Traction-Lok". They are both clutch-type units.

Isnt posi where both tires spin at the same time and limited slip is where on turns it will change the difference in the velocity of the tires to help with turning? Like if one tire starts to slip it will give more power to the other one and take less power to the one slipping?

Like GLC correctly said, they're both pretty much exactly the same thing - done with clutches in the differential. A locking differential (several types available) is the only thing that truly locks the wheels so they spin at exactly the same speed. (Unless of course you use a spool or weld things.) Lockers are great - in the right hands. Most folks wouldn't know how to use them. Limited Slip / Positraction units require no driver intervention.

Again - "posi" is slang for GM Positraction, which is a clutch-operated limited slip, same as the Ford Traction-Lok.
