It begins...p0307...new cop...no fix
It begins...p0307...new cop...no fix
Ok, I had the good 'ol P0307 code thrown. It happens only at freeway speeds when I accelerate to pass or simply speed up. I read through a bunch of threads on here and decided to go ahead and change the COP, which I bought from Uneek, and installed with dielectric grease. The misfire is still here though. So...whats next? I'm thinking:
1. Change the plug...which I didn't do because I don't have a Lisle handy and the Kragen didn't have one for rent. Being my DD I couldn't have it break on me and with 72k its 50/50.
2. Replace the injector
3. Whatever else you suggest
What do you guys think?
Also on an unrelated note...have you ever had the buttons on your steering wheel start working in reverse, searching down instead of up, and the volume button controlling the station seek feature?

Oops sorry, '06 5.4 3v, Flex Fuel, stock everything, fuel filter has been replaced regularly(and once after the code first appeared). After the light flashes it runs really rough for a second or two and then smoothes out and goes away...what else would you like to know?
my 06 was doing the same thing. never stored a code for me to read tho....i started putting 93octane fuel from either shell or sunoco and have never had it come back. i know its a band-aid...but at that point i didnt have this site, or a stored code and that was early summer and havent seen a miss yet....NOT suggesting this as a fix just a thought
eh I would just do it, guess I should go ahead and buy the Lisle off of ebay. But I'm starting to think its the injector now after reading more posts. Is there a specific replacement number for injectors that fix the problem for the '05's and early '06's ?
Ok, I think I got it fixed. I changed out the one plug and it seems to be running better. Couldn't get it to throw a code again. I ran seafoam through the brake booster line and took the plug out with an impact driver (craftsman C3) and no carb cleaner/kroil...it came out fine. Actually its pretty clean, then just to experiment I rubbed the plug with a paper towel dipped in seafoam for like 5 seconds and it got VERY clean...I know that a lot of you aren't seafoam fans but for a plug change I'm sold on it. I took pics of the plug that I can upload later.
