GOTTS'd my 4.2L

I figured I should make the most of this rainy, crappy Sunday by doing the GOTTS mod on my truck. 18 bucks for everything and viola!

Looks awesome!

How many miles on that truck?

I'm up to a measly 40k.

I drive alot, I'm up to 79K.

I have noticed that the engine idles a bit smoother now, but that could just be my imagination.

i did notice some extra power accelerating on to the expressway, which always helps.

What exact parts do you need? Do you feel it actually helped? Maybe I'll try this.

Cool!

My truck has been running like a champ after getting some bugs worked out of it...

Glad to see that a NBS 4.2 has some miles rolling on it...

Its a 3" diameter PVC pipe and a pipe connector.

You need to sand down the pipe to fit into the fender hole, once it fits, you just put the pipe connector over the end of the pipe and the filter cone.

While doing this, disconnect the battery, so that when you reconnect it, your truck's computer will relearn the amount of air being taken in and adjust accordingly. I've seen that this is not necessary, but can't hurt.

yeah, the engine is solid. They've been using them for years, and the 2004 + models are built pretty solid. I have not had any engine troubles. It still runs as smooth, if not smoother, than when I first bought it. I had an issue where it would start rough on occasion, but hasn't done that in months, weird.
