Another thing, the material isn't a huge deal if your doing it yourself, most people dont know the actual labor in doing a complete color change, tons of extra hours. Props for doing it right, or paying to get it done right. Cant wait to see it done.
The cost of the supplies is basically the trucks value, by the time i got all the primer for two coats, paint, matte clear and bought new fender flairs, window rubber, bumpers, all new bed caps and tons of other plastic.
The labor isnt killing me, the guy in the pic doing the work owns the shop;
(Custom Creations in Amherstburg, Ontario) and he is my wife's uncle....So i get the family discount.
We are going for a show quality job, not sema or anything crazy like that but done right....I have been helping a bit, but i work out of town and I am not home enough.

This truck is so nice so far and I cannot wait to see the finished product. Post some more when you have the chance. And who cares if its costing more than the truck is worth. All that matters is what it's worth to you anyway! Good Job.

Isn't matte paint just regular paint with a bunch of thinner in the paint and clear? I was told this by an old guy who supposedly done it this way back in the day.

It could be possible but I'm sure the proper way is to buy a specific matte clear like I bought. it cost way more than normal clear that's forsure
