Odometer light replacement?
Odometer light replacement?
Mines out. Anyone replaced theirs? Is it hard? If not, I'll do it. If it's kinda annoying, I'm still under the bumper to bumper warranty and I'll let the dealer take care of it.
It is easy to replace. You pull off 2 dash panels, unplug and pull out the cluster, find the bulb, untwist and replace. It's as easy as replacing any other bulb except you have to pull about 10 bolts to do so. The bulb is a #74.
Yes.

Instrument Cluster (easy way):
Step 1:
Remove the lower two screw on the bottom panel.
Step 2:
Remove the 2 screws on the upper panels that you just exposed. The little black ones.

Step 3:
Take your fingers and run them up the edge of the panel, to get the clips off.

Step 4:
Now you should be looking at the instrument cluster, remove the 4 screws.

Step 5:
Remove the two plugs.

Step 6:
Remove the shifter by squeezing the two tabs.

Step 7:
Take the shifter out by removing the red cord.

my odometer light go's out, when i tap the side of the light cluster it go's back on. i have to tap it harder and more frequently now to get it back on. do's it sound like the bulb? or loose connection?
It's just a loose connection ....follow the instructions above and you can fix it yourself. It's a very easy job and not hard to locate what bulb lights up what area.

when you look in a bulb theres a tiny thin piece of metal coiled around, they break , and thats what causes the bulb to go out, you break the circuit. when you tap it sometimes you make the wire thats broken touch the other end, and complete the circuit, and because its warm sometimes it will stick back to it for a little while. thats why it comes on when you tap on it. just replace the bulb if your out of warranty if its in warranty get someone else to do it
Well, that was September. Shortly after this post, I hit the dash, the light came back on and has worked fine ever since. If it goes out again, I'll take it apart and replace the bulb.
