Your fusebox may have slots for extra fuses, but it is unlikely to have the contacts in those slots, much less the internal wiring and such. You should use an inline fuse.

For the power mirrors, will I need to custom wire the relay, or should that be built into the factory wire harness?
I took the mirror power from the power seat / power pedal circuit. It was there in my 07 and I'm not going to ever add power seats or pedals.

So, I have ordered alot of the odds and ends (wire loom, shrink sleeves, zip ties, solder, etc). Amazon.com had alot of it, in bulk, for real cheap.

My question (since I don't have the factory harnesses in hand yet) is what gauge of wire to buy. 8, 10, 12, ...? Also, what can I expect the power draw of the windows / doors / mirrors to be, so I can get the right fuse(s).

Looking at the diagram, seems straight forward. Question though, are the switches illuminated with the light switch? I couldn't really see that in the diagram. Also, the express down for the driver's window, is that something built into the switch box that will keep the circuit open? Or do I need a module to activate the express down?

Factory wiring diagram has 30 amps for PW circuit, so I used that with an inline fuse holder. I used 14 gauge wire.

PW & PL, I used 18 gauge wire and used the factory 30 amp fuse in the power pedal circuit.

PW switch illumination get its' power from the 12+ line, so you don't need to run a separate illumination line. Also, driver's side PW switch has express down built in.

PM isn't illuminated.

PL switches are illumiated with a separate line. I used the illumination wire from the power pedal circuit, which is the same place I also took the 12+ and ground from for the PL & PM.

Just received the shipping notification from Tasca for the door harnesses.

It looks like I will be doing this install a week from Saturday, Oct. 1st.

Is there an good online site that will sell wire by the foot, or am I just better off checking the TrueValue / Ace in town?

Thanks for letting me know, but I have already moved forward with the aftermarket kit. Maybe someone else following this thread may be interested, if they want to do a more 'stock' install.

Great Success. Power windows and power locks installed, using factory panels and switches! Next weekend, mirrors and remote start.

One thing I did do differently though, I ran a cable from the battery, through a grommet, and into an aux fuse panel. Then I relayed the ignition for the windows.

Either way, works great and no worry about screwing up the factory wiring.

Are the aftermarket PL actuators pretty easy to bolt in, or is there some trial and error with positioning?

Its a bit ticky. The first time I mounted them, they ended up blocking one of the door panel tabs just enough to prevent it from going into the opening.

I ended up just drilling two holes and mounting it clear of anything.

I am also in the process of doing this. Here is what I used:

http://www.f150forum.com/f4/adding-power-package-58518/

http://www.f150forum.com/f4/electrical-help-62289/

I bought new actators, window regulators from Rock Auto
1 Door panel off Ebay
1 Door panel and used harness off of car-part.com
The harness is not complete in the sense that it was cut out of the donor truck by the fuse block but all the connectors in the door are there. I would prefer to have new harnessess but Tasca quoted me $210 for a new harness. Part # 8l3z-14a005-sa = $251.06
I'll have to look into the part numbers used oin this thread as they are much better price. (I have an 08).

Anybody here have the part number on the 30A Circuit Breaker in slot 401 for Power Windows in the fuse box by the passenger side kick panel? I've tried a regular fuse and it didnt fit, I also tried the part F6HZ14526L which is supposedly a 30A Circuit breaker from ford.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
