Maybe it does? Injectors aren't rocket science any longer. They've been around quite awhile now and many vehicle models seem to NEVER suffer hydrolock.

later then ......
Timeline

2004 production models--original supplier

2005 production models--ford switched suppliers for a more economical injector in the 2005 models.

2006+ production models--ford realized the error of their ways because of injector failures already were staring to happen on 2005 trucks, so they switched back to the original manufacturer, supposibly before the 2006 production began but some of the bad injectors can be found in really early 2006 trucks.

I hadn't seen it spelled out so clearly before.

Update. It's Monday afternoon and Ford still hasn't finished working on my truck. I'm hoping they will get it up and running by tomorrow.

Well, Took my truck in yesterday to the dealer for a recall on the wire for the airbag and find out that the service manager that was there when I had the truck Diaignosed for the bad Cam Bearing and recommeded replacing the engine is no longer working there.
So I ask the new folks if I can get a copy of the tech report which the other service manager wouldn't pass along. Not a problem and it is there waiting for me when I pick up the truck. And wow Just as I feared, I replaced an engine for a bad Cam phaser. Tell me I am not pissed. I can't blame the folks that are now there, and no way of recouping any monies for a bad recomendation and that is just what it is. $519 dollars in parts and $3800 in labour is what the report has, plus $580 for other parts Plus tax. came to approx $5800 total on the estimate.
So now I know what the report has so I will do a phaser Kit on the engine and put it up for sale.

Sorry to hear about your misdiagnosis on your truck Woodiedl. I finally did get my truck back only to have to bring it in the next day with the engine light on once again. Now they say it's the cataletic converter. apparently it melted when it Hydrocked and has to be replaced also. They had to order the part and I'm waiting for it to come in. Good luck on recouping your money losses, that's B.S. what they did and are not offering you any compensation for it.

Well I can't blame them to much, No wait yes I can, but I know that I won't get anything back, it was their recommendation. But if I had a look at the tech report before hand I could have saved myself a lot of time and aggravation, oh a and yeah money too.

Live and learn. Chalk up another one to experience.

Hey guys...i need serious help. i have an 06 LINCOLN MARK with the triton engine. I started experiencing some bad shaking when it was at idle or low speeds. The dealership said i needed an oil change; had them do it. Problem continued moment I left the dealership plus it had a knocking sound coming from the engine. The dealership had my truck for a month, I left it with them as i deploy for a few months. Contacted them and they said it was the VCT CAM PHASERS and SOLENOIDS which will cost me 2500 dollars. A week later I got an e-mail and was told that another technician checked my truck out and said it just need a tune up ( $500 ). I had them go ahead and do the tune up, they said the shaking was fixed but their is a knocking noise on the lower part of the engine and my oil pressure is dropping at times. Their recommendation is for me to get a new engine ( cost over 7000 dollars). Can anyone provide me some guidance. I hate taking my truck to the stealership but I didn't think I had a choice. I really dont want to come out the pocket 7 or 8 grand..HELP

1st off, thank you for your service! Our son is a career Chopper pilot in the Army.
I know this is not an easy answer from 1000's of miles away, but you need that truck in a shop where they have COMPETENT employees! They CERTAINLY don't seem to have where it is now. Is there anyone back home that can oversee this situation (competently) and make "wise" decisions for you while you're gone? those people need to be grabbed by the short hair and "yanked" a little. It's incompetence like that that gives shops a bad name.

Tomorrow Im going to call home and have a friend take it from that dealership and drive it to a shop that Ive used before in the past, the guys there do honest work so I hope they can give me a better answer. Glad to hear it's going somewhere that you trust. Spent many years in the automotive trade and have no tolerance for incompetence or dishonesty.
If you have an interest in becoming a pilot, I'd say go for it! Our son is an AH-64 Longbow IP, has been in Afganistan since last Nov. and so should be home in a few more months. His wife thinks he's been deployed too many times alteady.

DJames,

Thanks for your service, I did 23 in the Navy.

Sounds like Camphaser.

Contact Josh on here, He will ship parts for 10% over cost. $162 plus shipping for a cam phaser and about two or three hours to put in for each side.
Here is his thread https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...over-cost.html

Have it shipped to your friend or the shop you get your work done.
There are a few threads in here that will help with the install.

But this is only my opinion. So it may be something else but sure sounds like a bad phaser.

Good Luck.
