washed truck, now wont start..

This isn't the first time this has happened. This happened one month ago too and I ended up getting a rental.

I washed my truck this evening, I do clean the visible section of frame in the wheel wells, and the wells themselves, which I hose clean with the flooding setting on my hose nossil. When I start it, the starter turns. It tried starting once but bogged out.. I think its with fuel delivery. Last time this happened I searched on here and found a post of someone stating a similar problem and it was the fuel pump harness, deteriorated from mud and gunk and such.

I really need my truck tomorrow. The engine is not at all wet, the section near the fuel filter, all those harnesses are fine... Any advice how I can get it running again? I let it be for one full day and it started, what can I blast with the leaf blower or something to speed the process up?

All that and only one typo, much improved Darren

Can you hear the fuel pump run at all with Key on Engine off?
Does the truck crank and not run? or no crank? everything else working interior?

Check your fuel cut off switch (which i believe is in your passenger kick panel)

you can try banging the bottom of the tank to see if you can get the fuel pump to come on.

It could also be a security thing causing the PCM not to turn the fuel pump on. Do you have a second key you could try out? For ****s and giggles?

Yeah, I dont care about my grammar right now, I typed it fast so I could get some possible answers from the late nighters. I'm really beginning to hate this damn truck.

Well I believe I can hear it, it was cranking, now the starter just runs. Everything works.

I'll try beating the tank, but this isn't a Blazer lol. I'll look for that too, but that panel is all fuses in my truck.

When you say you hear it cranking, does that mean you hear the fuel pump prime up?

I'll have to listen closer in the morning. It would slowly turn over, idle from 300 - 500rpm, then bog out.

Darren - when was the last time you checked your Fuel Pump Driver Module? If it's cracked/corroded and you got it wet it may cause this. Just a thought.

Oh, and Patrick - don't be a hypocrite, boy. I've caught you butchering the Queen's English plenty of times, aight?

Good luck, Emperor!

Thats a problem. My ignition key doesn't wanna unlock the spare, and I only have one key.. hmm. But could very well be the problem. That area did get very wet.

not sure how the lock is held in there, but worse case scenario just take the rear bumper off to access the spare winch tube

Long shot but check the vent lines for the fuel vapor from the tank. I think it goes from metal to rubber in the front fender well. Might be sucking water when it tries to purge the tank.

Fuel pump driver module would be my guess as well. IIRC from here somewhere there is enough room behind the bumper to get a 3/8 ratchet and whatnot into the spare tire release mechanism to drop the spare.
