!!!airbag light on!!! Help

Yesterday I removed my radio and the radio bezel, unplugged that connectors going to it. Which included the passenger side airbag light connector. I wouldnt think just unplugging the light would make any difference because ive done it before.

I put the radio back in and hooked everything back up.

And today I get in my truck and the airbag light comes on like it should but stays on for a few seconds longer than it should then it will shut off and about a minute later it will flash once then flash 8 times the go out and do the same thing for a few times repeating itself then stay on

Could I have blown a fuse? Its raining and im lazy to check right now.

Already read both those threads and they dont help at all. They just repeat the fact to check to see if its plug in. I have unplugged and re plugged in probably 10 times to get it to shut off and nothing has changed.

It is plugged in and worked fine yesterday

Well I pulled the fuse in the panel and the light is off now. Temporary dangerous fix for the light until I decide to mess with it

wow dude, that's not a cool fix at all. How about you put the fuse back in and deal with the little light on your dash just in case someone hits you and your family/friends/loved ones require the air bags to save their/your LIFE.

If the light is active it will not deploy the airbags. If it finds any faults in the system the bags are disabled.

Check the connector to see if one of the pins has backed out from pluging/un-pluging.

Good to know. I thought just by taking the fuse out it disabled the entire system.

^^^^^ above is a good suggestion. Good luck.

I checked the connector and I also pulled an LED out of one of my flashlights because I was reading about soldering in a new LED because it got burned out.

I touched the contacts of the LED on the contacts that run through it and the new LED lights up with the key is turned on then goes out when the cluster reads itself like it should. Then the airbag light continues to flash. I guess putting a new LED in the system doesnt make it work??!

Do I also have to get the computer reset?

I also unplugged the battery before I put it in and drained the system completely. Then I re connected the battery to restart the computer. So I guess thats not the problem unless you have to plug in Fords computer to reset the airbag system

Well I figured out that the LED must have went bad because of smaking the bezel back in place with my hand.

I tranfered the bezel with led from my dads 07 into it and the light turned on and shut up and the airbag light stayed off. So it must have been the wrong style LED in my flashlight. Enough to light up but it realized it was the wrong style LED I guess.

Going to order a new trim piece off Ebay. Unless someone knows exactly what LED to buy from Radio shack so I can just solder in a new light

Sounds like possibly my issue. Can you tell me what kind of LED it took and any details on the procedure that might help? Thanks.

Shoot, I was hoping it would disable the entire system.

I would much rather hit the steering wheel than the air bag punch my face.
yes, I have hit the steering wheel before in other cars that didn't have air bags. I was so glad they didn't.

Seat belts I am ok with, getting punched in the face? Ill pass.
