I did the same set up for my lights only I used a larger 1 1/2"x 1 1/2" angle iron. I also notched each end so they would fit in the into the headlight housing so I didnt have to cut any of the headlights plastic to bolt it on.. Then I used a grinder to polish it up nice and gave it 3-4 coats of rustoleum. Works great, lights dont shake and the bar is VERY sturdy.

Heres a pic:

thats awsome! Ive got a few questions and hopefully you can answer them!

What size bit did you use to cut the hole for the switch between the cig lighter and your backup switch?

and how did you run the wires from the lights to the battery and into the cab? Did you run it through the firewall or under the cab somehow? Ive been trying to figure this out for days. BTW i know 0 about how to run them so detailed explanation would be great! thanks!

Depends on what kinda lights you wanna wire.. "Search" feature will net you some good results..

Here's a thread, bottom of page 1 shows you how to wire Hella 500's.

I just ordered 2 Whelen 500 series LIN6 LEDs in red. Hopefully they will be here in a few days. I'll be sure to post a new thread along with the rest of the lights in my truck.
