Peace out, thnks for all the advise, and enjoy your trucks boys..

Since when did a Dodge Caravan not have mechanical problems also? Regarding the statement about the truck having more parts that could wear out is an invalid argument also unless your van only has a chain, sprockets and pedals for you to drive it down the highway. I have driven my truck from Louisiana to Oregon and back twice within three years and it's still running strong even with over 107,xxx miles on the odometer. Last summer I went to Oregon without my truck and my in-laws and I drove a minivan from Oregon down to San Bernadino California and that thing barely averaged 23mpg driveing on I-5 and that poor V-6 caught hell climbing the mountains in Northern California and didn't ride any better than my truck. If your truck is getting high in the mileage and your getting to the point where your having a hard time trusting it on long trips then I understand the want to trade it in for something newer but come on man a minivan? A dodge caravan at that. I would have bought something else instead of a minivan that's gonna be lucky to get 25mpg's and throw you the bird everytime it has to climb a hill. BTW the van I drove was a fully loaded 09 model with only 15,000 miles on the odometer. I only drove that sucker at night cause I was so ashamed to be seen driving it around.

Well there seem to be allot of tough talkers on here.... I like the Van, and as far as the ford truck it was a piece of ****, it was always broke, always something, pullys, to FCM, that I could not even get for a month.. rear end problems, brakes, spark plugs, hell I could go on, and im sure some of you guys are going to say that your trucks never break, and it was my fault as a driver.... Any way, as most of you say the gas milege sucks...well I have a hard time to believe that my van will be worst, but now i can take my 2 kids 2 dogs and all our kit were every we go, And were my child has mental issues, he will have his own area to sit, his own space. Thank you to some of you, others well, life will catch up to you

Scotty Dog, you got to do what you got to do. Your inventory indicates the mini-van is the right choice for the situation. As far as some of the membership comments here, some are just having fun, some are just ignorant and some just trying to get that response out of you. Good luck with your new transport.

Oh, and sorry to hear about your *****.

lol, Raoul. Scotty Dog, sorry to hear that your truck was giving you so many problems, but you negated to include that in your original post. As far as we knew, you were trading in a perfectly good paid-off truck for a mini-van and monthly car payments. We were explaining that 300+/mo in car payments pays for a lot of repair bills.

In any case, it isn't that minivans aren't functional; it's that most people would prefer to drive something a little-less soccer mom-ish. The gas mileage thing is what we didn't understand either, since I average 16/20 for mpg's in my truck, where the Dodge Caravan gets 16/23, so it's not really much of a step up. I would have gotten an SUV if I needed a third row seat. Again, to each his own, hope everything works out for the best!

Hows the gas mileage with the ecoboost? Was it worth the extra $5K? I planned on getting a limited, but didn't plan on getting ecoboost.
If you can afford it get the EcoBoost. Especially since you are coming from a Mustang GT. You will miss the power. We are getting around 20 MPG with 95% city driving. Just be aware that these things are not small. We parked next to an Expedition shortly after we got it and thay are about the same size. The Flex is just shorter. Ther thing weighs about 2000 lbs less than my truck and has 55 more HP.

Some of you guys just need to let the minivan thing go, seriously.

How can anyone fault Scotty Dog for doing what he feels is the right thing for his family?
