TRee fell on my truck.. any ideas
[QUOTE=1st4x4;4241731]You're both wrong. Depreciation is amount of value lost over a given time. Like it loses $3500 in value a year, after five years a $30k truck would be worth $12.5k.
Diminished value would mean the truck w/o a wreck history would be worth $24-$25k but now if it was repaired even if it looked/ran the same as before may only be worth $13-17K. so the diminished value would be a difference of ~$7-11k...."
Which is exactly what I was referring to. Guess my legaleze was off a bit. Had it happen to me once. Hail damage to my Mk VIII was fixed good as new, but my trade-in value was "diminished" because the car had been repainted.

Guess a 2008 wouldn't exactly be "new" would it?
I had a 73 Dodge Fart...er...Dart. I hated that thing simply because of the poor engineering, especially the motor mounts.
hey man i wouldnt get to bent outta shape, im in the collision repair bussines and i can tell u ive seen way worse from a tree. Your roof would be replaced ,the roof skin which is cake and all the crossmembers across which i think there is three in your truck, done one a while back as for the bed, our shop would most likely get a junk yard bed and overhaul and repaint or less cases replace bedsides and inner structures...where did they say they were going to use filler at???
