Lifting a truck with XXX miles on it
Hey guys...my buddy wants to lift his 05 f150 with 78,000 miles on it. I wanted to get your opinon... Would you lift a truck with this many miles on it? hasnt had any severe problems with it. Would you lift a truck with 50 on it? or wait for you next truck. Curious to hear the answers
My 04 has 96,000 miles on it and it runs really well with 11.5" of lift and 40" tires. It has many upgrades to help out but I think having a keen eye for issues and staying on top of maintenance is the key.
Its always made more since to me to do lifts with more miles on them. Shocks are starting to wear, ball joints, another anlignment, maybe rotors, etc. I never understood why someone would put a lift on a truck with 15k miles on it haha. Taking all those brand new parts off and letting them just sit or worse thrown away.
Why worry about the mileage? your going to be replacing everything anyway, and while your at it just do what 05redFX4 said and replace all the ball joints, etc while in there.
If the truck runs good, and he likes it go for it.
I have had my lift on for just about 3 years now and nearly 50k and have had zero issues out of my truck which now has nearly 80k on it.
