It's so pretty

washed and waxed the truck yesterday and snapped a pic with my cellphone.

I bought new tires but ended up just buying the goodyear wrangler ats again because i just couldn't bring myself to spend $400 more on bfg's when i don't really like them that much. Pretty much resigned myself to the fact that the truck will probably always be stock but that's ok cause i still get tons of compliments on it

Truck looks great. I actually think our 2 tone trucks look damn nice stock. But I did have to get rid of the grille in favor of a FX2.

I'm almost due for tires. My problem is I have not had good luck with Wranglers life span. But the main problem is I'm in a Goodyear plant town. My Dad retired from there with 37 years and my brother is going on 20 years there.

How many miles did you get out of your last set of Wranglers?

67k out of the Wrangler ATS? Are you sure? I'm sorry, if you did, great. But I have an extremely hard time believing that. It's tough to even get 67k out of a 10ply.

I've got 65k on my BFG Long Trails (P-rated) and they still have plenty of life left.

I guess the definition of the phrase "need new tires" is different for every individual. I think I got around 43k out of my last set of Wranglers I had on my 96 Bronco. Yes, rotated, tire pressure checked religiously. It just wasn't a good tire. For me.

I don't know how you guys are doing it but I envy you getting 65k+ out of those tires.

Yes i'm 100% serious. They were brand new when i got the truck with 40,000 miles, the truck had 107,000 miles on it when they were taken off with 2/32 tread on them last Friday.

Nothing wrong with a nice, clean, stock truck -- especially the FX4's and FX2's which look the best of all the models in stock form......

My dads friend worked at goodyear proving grounds for 30 years here in san angelo and he kept telling my dad that his goodyear wranglers would last just as long if not longer than dads michelin ltx's. So my dads friend bought a 01 supercrew lariet and it came with bfg long trails and the 2nd day he switched them with some wranglers. My dad also had a 01 supercrew with the michelins ltx on it. Dad made a bet and told him if the goodyears lasted 50,000 miles dad would give him 500 bucks and vice versa. 5 years later the goodyears were wore out with 45000 miles and dads michelin's have 63,000 miles and still have 3/32nds of tread left . Needless to say goodyear tires are not what they are made out to be. My dads other freind had a 95 ford f350 and pulled a 40 foot camper behind it most of the summer and he had 10 ply goodyear wranglers on it and after 20,000 miles he had blown out both goodyears on the rear, dad told him to go get some michelins and he wouldnt have anymore problems. So he kept the 2 remaining goodyears on the front and put some michelins on the rear and he got 65,000 miles out of the michelins and never had a flat or blowout.

looks great. nothing wrong with those Wrangler AT/S. They survived my Supercharger...so that speaks of something for 'em. Never left me stuck in the mud either.

I'm amazed that you guys expect anything more than 40,000 miles from a set of tires. I guess I just drive extremely hard. My Mustang gets maybe 10,000 miles per set of tires...and my trucks/suv's are due about every 30-40,000 miles.
