Hole in my knee

OK SCAB owners, is there anyway to keep the damn door from closing unexpectedly. The damn door has closed on my foot, ankle, knee, calf, and thigh. Yesterday it drew blood from behind my knee and I was wearing jeans. Is there a way to tension the spring or something?

Anyone else have this happen on a regular basis? I will be a cripple for owning this truck.

I would replace the stop. (meaning the check strap) Is this when you're on an incline or when it's windy or is your truck just POSSESSED? Definitely shouldn't be doing that. The type of CS that most of them use now isn't as strong as some of them used to be. If it is actually not any weaker than the other doors, I imagine if you're kind of handy with mechanical things, you could take the CS out and figure a way to hold the spring sides more tightly against the strap. I can think of a way, but It's difficult to describe it.

Sounds like user error to me... are you always parking on hills? Driving down the road with the door open and your foot hanging out???

I've never had it happen.

X2. I've had my F150 for 6 years now and not once have I been injured by it.

I live next to the river and it is very windy around my house and my truck does this also. I have a 2 year old son that I try not to use foul language around, but when this happens he has learnt a few words that I will regret in the future. By the way I don't have to be parked on a hill this to happen either, just a hard gust of wind and its gotcha.

Multiple angles and a slow motion version would make the diagnosis even easier.
