Wow, I had the total opposite experience. I have some 5100's (on my Jeep) that went bad on me after just a year. I misplaced my receipt so I called Shockwarehouse and for some reason they had no record of my purchase. I contacted Bilstein, who had drop shipped them and they had no record of the shipment. Guess what, no records meant I was SOL. I'll doubt I'll ever buy from Bilstein or Shockwarehouse again.

I have 37k on mine and they are starting to get a little soft but still very good.

+1 for Bilstein. I had an issue several years ago on my old truck and they were all over it. Replaced the old shocks no questions asked.

Doesn't matter what anyone offers here, there's always going to be someone who has an opposite experience. Like the old adage goes, can't please everyone.

Someone asked what I noticed to make me think they were going, well the ride was getting very soft. Not OEM soft, but much softer then they were just a few thousand miles ago. 90K certainly seems like a reasonable life for a set of shocks. Especially with the abuse of plowing/hauling.

If the retailer had done their job properly you wouldn't be in this situation. I'm afraid that I might be in the same spot down the line as well. Otherwise I think Bilstein WILL honor their warranty. You're one of many who's had a bad experience with shockwarehouse.

Just a thought, but why not approach Bilstein with your problem. When I started my discusion with them, I had not located my sales receipt. The customer service rep provided me with a name of his boss so I could talk with him. Apparently this guy can override their system and approve replacements even if you don't have proof of ownership. Not sure if it would work, but contact them and ask. What's the worse thing that happpen?
