efans making ac not blow cold air at red lights
i have a set of efans with troyer controllers and spal fans, when driving down the road or interstate my ac blows REALLY cold but when i start to get in stop and go traffic or at a red light my ac is not cold at all. i dont have any over heating issues or any other type of problems any help would be great thanks.
Well, not necessarily. I know some controllers have an AC input that turns on the second fan when the AC is turned on. Not sure if yours does or not.
It seems the way you have it connected is for 1 fan to turn on when the engine starts to heat up, then have the 2nd one turn on if things keep on heating up? Some people also use the second one as the "AC fan", so it's drawing air full blast when the AC compressor is engaged (or something like that).
Not sure if the Troyer controller has such an input.

No I pulled the fuse from one fan had the AC on the fan turned on so I pulled that fuse and put the other fuse back in and it turned on with the AC also so both turn on with the AC
But do they run full time for as long as the AC is on, or do they cycle on and off either on their own or in sync with the compressor?

Wellsir - the only thing that comes to mind is the rpm of the compressor under freeway cruise versus stop&go / idling in traffic.
Airflow @ speed versus what the fans are pulling should be similar (as you said you do not see any temp rise / overheat conditions).
So - have yer A/C system checked - refrigerant levels, etc... perhaps?

I have that same issue, I did some research and what I found was the blend door opening or closing when I come to a stop... I do not have the e fans installed though. So, you might be having the same blend door issue that I am having(I think)

Your coolant circulates all the time through the heater core so in order to give you "full" or "partial" heat OR A/C, the blend door opens or closes at infinite positions to "blend" the heat and cool to give you whatever you have selected in temp. The "blend door" sometimes break and fail to "blend" so you may well not have what you want or selected, because the "good old blend door" has fallen down and can't get up. Got the picture?
There is a TSB on the actuator motor for the blend door. You may want to look into this. When mine started acting up at the end of summer last year, I had warm (heated) air coming out of the a/c vents. Since the motor's been replaced it's working like I would expect. I'm running Troyer's e-fans.
