It doesn't.

Try this: Stick a house fan, blower, whatever in front of the condenser while your truck is at idle with the A/C on, see if it starts cooling better.

I've noticed the same thing happening on my truck when sitting still. I installed the Troyer e-fans last summer and had no problems with them then. I haven't had a chance to see which fans come on when, but will try to check tomorrow. I do have a noisy blend door that I asked the dealer to check out last year, they said it was normal. I sure hope this isn't an e-fan issue, I really don't want to put my old fan back on.

Damnit...so I just changed my clutch cycling switch because my truck started doing the same thing. I don't have my fan hooked up to the compressor though. It only kicks on when the temp turns the fans on. Maybe I need to splice into the compressor. Especially here in south Texas.

Absolutely. If you don't have air flowing over the evaporator coils, you're not going to get cool air when you're not moving. Also for your electric fan to pull air thorough the evaporator, you shouldn't have any large gaps between the radiator and evaporator that aren't covered.

Condenser, not evaporator. The evaporator is in the HVAC case, air is blown across it with the blower motor.

wow i wonder if my no A/C is cause from the blend door. It gets hot n cold sometimes randomly. I dont have the efans - th eonly other thing would be my AC system being compromised... hmmm very interesting.

Yeah, right. Not enough caffeine to function properly.

OK, on mine the low temp fan comes on as it should, but the high temp fan which should come on with the a/c doesn't. It didn't get hot enough for the high temp fan to kick on due to temp, so I'm not sure if it's the fan, controller or wiring that is at fault. To test the relay, can I just switch the relay from one controller to the other? My buddy that helped me install the fans did a little too good of a job, he soldered connections, shrink wrapped, used the plastic casing and electrical tape. It's gonna be a bear to take things apart to test....

You can swap the relays out I would just go out side start it up let it idle run it at 2000 rpm let it get warm, also check and make sure your temp probe is still in the radiator also what wire do you have your fans hook to for the AC clutch?

The only way the fan will come on when the compressor clutch is energized is to tap into the wire to the clutch and connect it to the appropriate wire on the controller.

Everything is connected correctly, the fans were installed last June and have worked perfectly until the last month or so. I don't remember which wire we tapped into, but we followed the Troyer install manual exactly, so it's whatever wire they recommended. The temp probes are still in good.

friends dad had a saab and the low speed fan resistor died on it, so the fan would work but only in high. this would cause his ac compressor to not kick on. if the fans are moving too much air i think you get the condenser too cold or something of the sort and cause the ac compressor to kick off.
