window question

On my 04 supercrew, driver front window seems to work intermittently. After the winter and it started to warm up I started rolling them down more and it started to squeak like it was rubbing on the seal. As if the felt was worn down. Now it rolls down fine but you have to hit the up switch a couple of times to get it to go up and other times it is fine. I'm hoping it is just the switch. Anybody have any ideas?

Sounds like its just the switch. I know the contact pins can wear out and cause that.

I have been having a similar issue, my front passenger window switch on the drivers door works when it wants to. Just today I tried putting both fronts down and the passenger wouldn't go down, I had to lean over and use the door switch and it went down. After I got home when I put them up they both went up using the driver door. This a common replacement switch thing?

If you pop the button off you can use a paper clip or something similar to push the contact down and if your window's work correctly then (try both sides of the switch), then those are just worn out.

Actually save yourself some money.

Find which contact isn't being pressed all the way down, put a drop of solder or two on top of it (carefully, and let it cure, you don't actually want it to stick on anything), snap the switch face back on and be done with it. Eventually the added weight and the already degraded condition of the contact tabs will probably make replacement necessary anyway, but it should go a while like that.

I had the same issue to, I just pulled the switch out, took it apart, cleaned it real good and blew the bottom part out with my air compressor and it works fine now.
