I haven't learned anything from your posts other than the fine art of arrogance. Like I said pumpkin, carry on.

of course, i posted that last year when i thought the world was mine its all apart of growing up and i reread it myself and i was like whoa, maybe i should delete it for the purpose that there isn't many cool ppl out there unlike terb or lerb or who ever that guy is, and yeap matts got some real nice retro's in his truck!! i just can't justify the $300 plus cost on doing a retrofit right now reason why i went back a couple months ago and re'aimed my heads properly, i wouldn't feel right about sticking to a stock halogen you know- another reason why paying PnP for fogs have not convinced either!

if i recall correctly you were amongst the first on retrofitting weren't you?

Can't complain, just keepin' on keepin' on.

Did you ever post a thread showing how you re-aimed your HIDs? If it's not too much trouble, it might help out those guys without retro-fits.

Yeah, I was among the first, there were one or two other guys that had em, they just didn't post too much about them. Hell, Duke (Duke F150 or F150 Duke, it's been so long since he's been around) did a retro fit on his '05 back in 2006! I've wanted them ever since seeing his thread. I think he was probably the first around here to have those.

Here's his thread: https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...color-mod.html

Doing a retro isn't too bad, especially if you can do them yourself. Toss $50 bucks aside everything month and you'll have enough $$ in no time!

sure thing with that!! my problem is knowing the 50 bucks are their sitting all lonely

now that you mentioned, i just may post em in lighting and illumination, explaining what it is that motivated me to doing so, since not alot of folks know about the art of retrofitting!! dukes truck loks very well done! i figured this was something that started alittle while ago!

P.s. hey darkshadow, the clicking in my brake pedal stopped, i got led's for my rears, and they are way brighter, i guess it was the flasher trying to figure out the load from running two diffrent bulbs for the turnsignals(led's up front/ haloen in the back)

that would explain why i never had the clicking

That makes sense! I only get the break clicking when I attach my trailer. My trailer has only normal bulbs not LEDs.

understood, but my bulbs have a HID and a Halogen, which split the current for low's and high's, so the halogen hit's the bottom of the reflector throwing it up, and Hid hitting the top, reflecting down. Made sense when i thought about it, then aimed 'em accordingly, and it does throw the high beams where its supposed to i light up trees with the halogen;s on high and throw most light down in low beam

Ok got the bulbs and put in the new flasher unit a cpl weeks agget a resistor? How are they hooked up?. I am very pleased with them but I tried my cruise control today after getting out of the city and it doesn't work at all.
Do I need to buy some resistors? How are they intalled?
Also about the same time I installed these the dealer did the airbag recall, they might have left a wire loose in the steering wheel.

Update: replaced the LEDS with the stock bulbs and it still doesn't work so its not the bulbs.

it's not the halogen or led bulbs... it's the replacement flasher unit. it disables your cruise control and the only to fix this is to put the stock flasher unit back in but then you get the hyperflash blinkers. i've just gone without my cruise control for now...

but along the lines, my led bulbs are starting to go out. a few led's here and there... looks like it's time to replace them with something else.

Well over the weekend I got my factory manuals out and started trouble shooting. I wasn't throwing any hidden codes so I returned everything to stock. Still didn't work. So I unhooked the brake light sensor switch up on the brake pedal and I unhooked the transmission gear selector sensor on the tranny. I hooked them back up and went for a drive and the cruise worked. So I put the led's back on and the cruise worked again. I then put the electronic flasher unit back in and the cruise worked as well. So I must of had a bit of corrosion on one of the sensors but they didn't look bad.
Everything is fine for now.
Sorry to hear that your leds are starting to burn out, how long have you had them? For $60 I was hoping they would last for a long time.

So I looked on V-led's site for switchbacks and they have quite a few different kinds and some say HID as well. I gather that the type 1 vs type 2 relates to weather the white stays on when the amber flashes. Which ones would fit for my 05 blinkers? Does anyone have the "hid" ones?
