Appeal of STX model...

How do you have the 5.4? STXs were only supposed to have either the 4.2 or the 4.6. I have never heard of one with the 5.4

you know this thread is killing me. When i looked for trucks i had a wide variety. after driving a few i settled with a 4.6 f150. i found mine and another, 04 stx with power everything. i bought mine which was a xlt with power everything. mine had 10k more miles and was a year newer. here are pictures of both. the floors in the stx would have been so much nicer imo. but the only thing that threw me off was the stx had a rip on the passenger seat on the pocket in the rear. now that i think about it, SEAT COVERS duh. i just think the 04 would have looked so much better. can anyone say black out? o well, live and learn.

I bought mine used at the end of last year. I didn't think they came in a 5.4 either. It's a special edition STX and, from what I've gathered, the 5.4 could be special ordered.

Since they came out with the STX in I think it was 98, I've always been facinated with them. One of my sisters old boyfriends had one and it was pretty damn nice except at the time you could order them with the 4.6 and a 5spd. I picked mine up this year, Jan 4th for $16,900 with only 9k miles. It's loaded for an STX but all I really wanted was a single cab short bed F150 with a V8, I almost picked up an XL but I wanted the power equipment and the painted bumpers add a sporty look to it. The rubber floors are something I can't live without now, just a quick rince with a sponge and they're clean.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think Ive decided I want an STX 4x4 with the 4.6L. I dont tow, plow, or drive offroad a lot (maybe a beach here and there); and certainly dont want all that flashy chrome (I hate it).
Not having the spark plug issue and being just a tad bit more economical are also added bonus'.
Now the hard part...FINDING THE TRUCK!!!!!

I bought my '08 STX at the end of '08 with 48 miles on it for $15.5k. It was the only truck anywhere near me that was optioned that way. Power everything, sport package, 4.6L. It's a great truck and was a blank slate...
The dealership I bought it from only deals in trucks, work trucks and fleet vehicles mostly. That's why my truck was on their lot for almost a year before I bought it.
