True, probably around 90ish though. He pulled like a frieght train no doubt, yet I was shocked when we were roughly neck to neck the majority of the time considering his mods to mine. That is all going to change though with a S/C for me.

My previous truck was a 2004 Ram quad cab 1500 4X4 with the hemi and 3.55 gears. I purposely got the 3.73 gears in my F-150 to try and make up for some of the power difference. Honestly the power is the only thing I miss about that truck. Well, the seats were a lot more comfortable, but that's subjective. There is no contest in power. There just isn't. The Ram would not only jump off the line a lot quicker than the F-150 does, but also at speed if you floored it, it would just keep on pulling right up to the speed limiter. No question whatsoever that the F-150 is a much better all-around truck, and I knew going in that it was going to be down on power so it was no disappointment.

Yep diff trucks. Sure it is fun to run a bit here and there but remember its just a truck and the purpose of a truck is to haul and tow loads. At the true purpose the f150 is better. The Ram though is clearly faster. I do like the way the new Rams look. THought about one for a sec when they increased the rear crew's leg room...but the F150 is still better to me.

Fords aren't known or designed for speed. But then what real truck is? Ford is proud of its working abilities, not the off the line numbers.

Ive recently been ask to run for pinks by a Ram owner. I would never run for pinks, but mayby for a cash wager. I'm tempted. Both our trucks are crew cabs and 4x4s. All I know about his is that its got a hemi and has duals on it. Just talking to the owner I can tell he isnt someone who has done modifications. I keep thinking about the challenge.

Don't do it... I was interested in this and lurked on a couple Hemi and Toyota forums, looking for their 0-60 and 1/4 mile threads. Guess what, they win. I've got my 6200lb beast to run 7.2 0-60 with 4.10s, Edge Level 2, glasspack, and CAI. That's what a stock Hemi runs and 'Yotas run 7.0s, stock...

Another thing to add to my reply above, is that along with being significantly faster, the Ram (at least, mine) can be absolutely scary as hell in turns. That truck felt like it had 3 flat tires on curvy roads, even going slow. It had this weird characteristic where you would turn and the weight would shift to the outside like you expect, and then a split second later it would sort of rebound and shift back towards the inside for a split second, and then finally shift back to the outside and stay there through the rest of the turn. Not a huge deal when you're used to it, but scary when you're not. My wife wouldn't drive it because it handled so unpredictably bad, yet she loves driving the F150.

So basically, the Ram's speed is really only an advantage in straight lines. I'm not sure if the '09-up Rams handle any better or not. Now, like straight-line speed, comparing handling of pickup trucks is a bit silly, but the stability and solid feeling of the F-150 in turns makes driving it a pleasure.

Get a PSD with a SCT or Spartan, turn the 0-60 in 4's and 1/4 mile into
12/13's all for $2k.

Lol I would rather get a 24v Cummins. 500HP and 23mpg.
As for gas motors, the 2011+ have all but made the 5.4 and 4.6 obsolete.
